Hi friends, today I have watched in the news that amazing ad, and when I have looked for it in the internet I have found, surprisingly, that the same one had been banned. What a crazy world, FAMINE should be banned!!!

"A charity founded by Bono has been stopped from showing a campaigning television ad about famine in the Horn of Africa because it breaches rules on political advertising. Independent."

I have loved Sting always, since Police, his music, his voice, his lyrics, he is one of my favourite singers. Here you are: FRAGILE

"Fragile"

If blood will flow when flesh and steel are one
Drying in the colour of the evening sun
Tomorrow's rain will wash the stains away
But something in our minds will always stay
Perhaps this final act was meant
To clinch a lifetime's argument
That nothing comes from violence and nothing ever could
For all those born beneath an angry star
Lest we forget how fragile we are

On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are how fragile we are

On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are how fragile we are
How fragile we are how fragile we are

And today, after a thundering, lightning and rainy night, I want to introduce to the ones I love the most: MY FAMILY.

Of course he is not Nelson Mandela, he is Morgan ¨Freeman playing Nelson Mandela, but it seems so real. I like Freeman; I reckon he is a very good actor.

I watched this films last year, but now that I know a bit more about Nelson Mandela, thanks to Emilio, I can understand the poem much better, and I´m going to see the film again, but now in English.

INVICTUS

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

William Ernest Henley (1849-1903)

GLOBAL ISSUES

Nearly a billion people entered the 21st century unable to read a book or sign their names.

Can you believe that? When I have read this sentence I have realized how fortunate I am. I couldn't live without reading a book, feeling new sensations and emotions through the pages of a novel, looking up for new words and sounds in a dictionary, being able to sing a song while I read the lyrics on a computer screen, following directions on a map to arrive to an unknown place,...I feel sorry about these illiterate people because letters give me so much... and they have so little...

This week I couldn't think of anything to write about in the blog    and suddenly I remembered a song from the band "Strokes" that is called "I've got nothing to say" and  as I've got nothing to say you've got here "nothing to say". Enjoy it.

And what about "Madrugada"? It is a Norwegian band of alternative rock, do you know them? The singer has got such a lovely voice... Do you want to listen to it? Just do it!

Hi all, it is a week since I wrote in the blog last time. A whole week has passed and now I have got new words in my mind. I try to write down all of them as Emilio recommended us,  to hold as much as I can, but many of them are beyond my conciousness, I cannot grasp them, they have run away and have hidden somewhere, but sooner or later they will have to appear and then I will be there to trap them again, ja, ja, ja.

Well, as this week consisted of only three working days, at least for the "lucky civil servants" it passed as quick as a flash, and the weekend is passing even quicker.

This morning we went for a walk to the beach with the children. It was really windy there, so we just stayed for around one hour. The children were having fun with the bikes and my husband and mewere eating  toasted sunflowers seeds (as you see I don't need great things to be happy) but we had to come back home because it was beggining to be cold by the sea. By the way, anyone of you being in England, could anytime to eat toasted sunflower seeds over there?. I have never found them.

And talking about England and the British Empire, we all could watch the film "A Passage To India", but who of you have seen "East is East", I recommend it to you, I had really fun and lots of laugh that is because I post the trailer in the blog.

"East is East", enjoy it!
